As Chief Operating Officer at Hakuhana, Jon Defrates is responsible for overseeing the company’s daily operations, ensuring that every part of the organisation runs efficiently and with integrity. His practical leadership and commitment to operational excellence help drive Hakuhana’s mission to provide stable, fair, and rewarding employment for people across multiple industries.

Jon manages key areas including staffing logistics, client relations, compliance, and business development across Hakuhana’s UK and U.S. operations. He is known for his calm, solutions-focused approach and his ability to balance strategic growth with the needs of both clients and staff.

Before joining Hakuhana, Jon built a broad career working across maintenance, engineering, government, and hospitality. This experience gave him a strong understanding of how workplaces function on every level , from hands-on roles to management , and shapes the way he leads today.

Jon works closely with CEO Petrina Baldwin to guide Hakuhana’s continued expansion and uphold its core values of fairness, trust, and long-term stability.
